North Oakville Animal Hospital (or NOAH as we love to call it) was established by Dr. Sarah Machell in May 2000. Dr. Sarah had a vision of providing veterinary medical care in conjunction with the education and enrichment of the lives of both pets and pet owners within the Oakville community.     Dr. Sarah Machell, Practice Owner

    Dr. Sarah graduated from University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. She then continued at the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) and graduated in 1997. Dr. Sarah, her husband, Terry Cooke and their two young boys, Gibson and Korben, enjoy the canine companionship of their Shih Tzu 'George', Rat Terrier, 'Sony' and loveable Golden Retriever 'Cheddar'. The family also has three crazy kitties 'Stanley', 'B-Bell' and 'Peachy', as well as so many goldfish that they have run out of names! Dr. Sarah volunteers her time at the Oakville and District Humane Society weekly and in her down time enjoys reading, playing ice hockey and visiting their northern Ontario getaway spot.

  • Dr. Jen Wilstra

    Dr. Jen Wilstra

    Dr. Jen graduated from OVC in 2008 and joined the NOAH team soon after gradutation. She shares her Milton apartment with her fiancee JP, her 4 legged cat 'Kitty' and her 3 legged cat 'Chester' (a recent adoption from the Oakville and Milton Humane Society). Dr. Jen enjoys spending her free time reading, going to the gym and playing ultimate frisbee.

  • Dr. Shari Wiseman

    Dr. Shari Wiseman

    Dr. Shari graduated from OVC in 2000 and joined the NOAH team in 2004 . Since starting here Shari has been on maternity leave 3 times.   At home Dr. Shari is very busy with her 2 cats, 3 kids and husband.  When she has some free time she spends it outdoors, hiking, canoeing and playing with her kids.

  • Mary Cassidy, Practice Manager

    Mary Cassidy, Practice Manager

    In January 2012, Mary Cassidy joined our team as the new Practice Manager.  Some of you may recognize Mary’s smiling face as she worked here previously for 8 years as a part-time Saturday Receptionist.

    Mary’s job is to run the day-to-day operations of the hospital, allowing our Doctors to focus on patient care.  As the Practice Manager, customer service is an important part of her role so please feel free to speak with her if you have any feedback for the team.  Mary’s direct email is to the right.

    Mary has a BA in Marketing from NYU’s Stern School of Business and worked in corporate North America for 24 years prior to coming to NOAH.  She lives in Bronte with Mick, her husband of 14 years, and when she is not at the clinic, you can find her on a spinning bike or sweating profusely in a hot yoga class.

  • Ashleigh Quinn, RVT

    Ashleigh Quinn, RVT

    Ashleigh is the newest addition to the NOAH team. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College in 2007. Ashleigh and her family share their home with a loveable shih tzu 'Maddie' and cat 'Hughy'. When she is not working Ashleigh spends her time preparing for and participating in fitness competitions. We are very happy to have Ashleigh join our team.

    Dawn Noland, RVT

    Dawn joined the NOAH team in early 2010. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program at Ridgetown College in 2007. Before coming to us Dawn worked in emergency veterinary medicine. At home she has a very well behaved Rhodesian Ridgeback 'Jackson'. In her free time Dawn enjoys skiing and antiquing.

    Ana Montejo, RVT

    Ana graduated from St. Lawrence College veterinary technician's program and wrote her licensing exams in the summer of 2005. Since then Ana has worked as one of NOAH's Registered Veterinary Technicians. However, Ana's connection to NOAH began in 2001 as a student volunteer. Ana's family has many four legged companions including two cat's, 'Coco' & 'Cloudy' , and a miniature schnauzer 'Tica' and a Jack Russell Cross 'Prometheus'. Ana recently welcomed her first child 'Juliana' to her family, she is currently on maternity leave.

    Bonnie Viens, Receptionist

    Bonnie is our morning receptionist. Sarah and Bonnie met years ago while working together at another practice. Bonnie joined the NOAH team over 9 years ago. Her cheerful and forever pleasant demeanor is a wonderful part of our day to day lives here! In her free time Bonnie loves hikes in the woods and long bike rides. Bonnie and her husband share their home with a Golden Retriever 'Jasper', and cat 'Ollie' (recently adopted from the Oakville and Milton Humane Society).

    Carrie Cross, Receptionist

    Carrie has been a member of the NOAH team since 2003. A university graduate, Carrie had many years experience working in veterinary hospitals prior to coming to us. Carrie has immeasurable love and compassion for all our animals.   At home Carrie has three cats, a loveable Labrador 'Campbell' and his own personal sidekick 'Lilly' the Pekingese. In her free time Carrie enjoys hiking, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball and reading.

    Allie Bastet, Receptionist

    You may recognize our newest receptionist Allie, she has been with NOAH for the past 8 years, and decided to broaden her horizons by joining the front desk.  Allie is a strong asset to the NOAH team because of her dedication and strong knowledge of animal care.  She graduated from Sheridan College in 2004, from the animal care program and began her NOAH ride during a co-op semester in that program. At home Allie has a crazy gremlin/boston terrier cross named 'Cola'. In her free time Allie enjoys reading, playing hockey and snowboarding.
